Dimensions for bracket modifications.Procedure For Modification Of The Bracket Assembly
1. Remove the support bracket assembly and oil filter from the frame.2. Completely disassemble the filter cover, element and bracket assembly, and disconnect the supply and return hose assemblies from the bracket.3. Bend the bracket as shown in the illustration.4. Flame cut the two holes at the top of the frame and the two holes at the bottom of the bracket to permit installation of a spacer in each hole as shown in the illustration.5. Assemble the bolts, washers, spacers, plate and frame.6. Tighten to 75 10 lb ft (100 15 N m) and tack weld the spacers to the frame at the top holes and to the bracket at the bottom holes (see the illustration).7. Remove the bolts, washers and the bracket, and permanently weld the spacers in place.8. Fasten the bracket assembly to the frame and connect the supply and return hose assemblies.9. Install the filter cover and element.
Oil passage areas and surfaces must be clean and free of weld and torch splatter.
