Remove the relief valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Relief Valve (Torque Converter Outlet) - Remove".

Remove O-ring seal (1) .

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Remove one bolt (2). Install Tooling (A) and tighten the nut onto plate (3) .
Repeat Step 2 for remaining bolt (2) .

Loosen the nuts on Tooling (A) in order to release the tension on spring (4). Remove Tooling (A) and remove plate (3). Remove spring (4) .

Remove O-ring seal (5). Remove relief spool (6) .
