Calibration Procedure for the Vibration Sensors
Note: Calibration of the Vibration Sensor is necessary upon initial Start-up. Calibration of the Vibration Sensor is necessary whenever the Comm/Accel Board is replaced. The RPS Advance Setpoint Calibration must be performed whenever the Comm/Accel Assembly is replaced and whenever the top bearing of the flywheel is replaced. Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Rotor Position Sensor - Calibrate".
Place the key switch in the Bypass position for the MMU that is being calibrated.Note: In a Single-Module System, place the key switch in the Bypass position on the System Cabinet.Note: Proceed to step 5 for Single-Module Systems.
Connect a PC to the Parallel Cabinet Interface Board that is located in the System Cabinet.

Rotate the switch on the Parallel Cabinet Interface Board to the corresponding Multiple Module Unit.Proceed to Step 6.

Remove all sheet metal panels. Remove the sheet metal panel for the System I/O and Isolation Board (2).
Connect a PC to the System RS232/RS485 port that is located on the System I/O and Isolation Board. Make sure that jumper Jmp1 (3) on the System I/O and Isolation Board is in the correct position.Note: The lower side is RS232 and the higher side is RS485.
Close the input circuit breaker in order to restore power to the system.The system will start but the key will remain in the Bypass position.
Start your Personal Computer.

Run UPS View by double clicking over the icon (4) on your PC.

Click over the "Settings" (7) in the menu bar.The "Connection" window that is shown in illustration 5 will open.
Click on the radio button that has the label "Direct Connect (serial)" (6) .
Select your PC COM Port for this Serial Connection and set the Baud rate.The radio button for "Detailed MMU Telemetry" (5) must be checked.Note: The default baud rate is 38400.
Click on "OK" Button (10) in order to accept these settings.

Click on "Connection" on the menu bar.
Select "Connect" from the drop-down menu.You will be connected to the system and you will receive the system Telemetry.

Once you are Connected, Click over the "Enter Password" (13) in the menu bar.The window that is shown in illustration 8 will appear.
Enter "User Name" and enter "Password".
Click on "OK" Button.After the Password has been entered, the Menu Option will Change.The menu bar will contain a "Calibrate" Option.

Click on "Calibrate".
Select "Vibration Sensor Zeroes".Reference: Refer to Illustration 9.A "Calibration of a Channel" window will appear.

Click on the "View Status" Button.A "Calibration Group Status" window will open.
Click on the "Use Defaults" button on "Calibration of a Channel" window.You will be prompted to enter a "Calibration Point" for Lateral Vibration.
Enter 0.0 and Click on "OK". "Axial Vibration" will automatically be displayed in the "Calibration of a Channel" window. The "Calibration Group Status" window will show "Calibration Complete but not saved" for lateral vibration.

Enter 0.0 and Click on "OK".The "Calibration Group Status" window will display "Calibration complete but not saved" for Axial vibration.
Click on the "Save" button.The "Flash reprogrammed
