Electric Power Generation AllIntroduction
This Special Instruction provides information about upgrading electric power generator set control mounted panels to the EMCP 4.4 control. The following is a list of the controls that can be upgraded to the EMCP 4.4:

EMCP3.3The EMCP4.4 control is intended for applications that require generator paralleling for low voltage applications less than 1000 V. Cat® floor-standing control or switch gear must be utilized for medium and high voltage applications.Proper application of EMCP4.4 paralleling controllers is critical. In various areas of this document, the document will refer to the unit as the generator set or engine. Enclosure dimensions
The kit is intended to replace EMCP control panels that are fitted in a generator mounted enclosure with the dimensions shown in Illustration 1. The enclosure included with the kit has three conduit holes in the bottom while some of the original controls only have two holes. The third hole can be blocked, if necessary.In addition to the control replacement, the following sensors must be replaced:
Oil pressure sensor
Engine speed sensor
