Installing the MCU Server Executable File
Note: If Windows Server 2012 is used on the site, the installation of MCU v6.0 requires .Net Framework 4.6.2 and 4.7.1.To install or upgrade the MCU Server software, complete these steps:
On the computer (server) where the current MCU Server software is installed, note the location of the MCU Server software.The following folder is the default location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\catmstar32\MachineConfiguration\Server
Store "InstallMachineConfigurationUtilityServer.exe" executable file on the computer being used as the server.
Open "InstallMachineConfigurationUtilityServer.exe".

Select "Next".

Browse to the folder where the MCU Server software will be installed, or else accept the default location, then select "Next".

If installing into the same location as the initial MCU Server installation, the "Folder Exists" message appears. Select "Yes".

Check that the destination location is correct and select "Install". Refer to Illustration 4. The Setup message appears if there was an error in the original registry value. In that case, select "OK", run "MachineConfiguration\Sever\unins000", and then reinstall the MCU Server software starting at Step 2. Refer to Illustration 5.

The MCU Server software installs. Select "OK".

Select "Finish" to complete the update to the required version.The application file "ConfigurationManager.Server" appears in the selected folder. The MCU Server starts automatically in the background at the end of the install process.Installing the MCU Client Executable File
Note: Avoid a mismatch between server and client software versions. Update all copies of the MCU Client software that are running on office PCs and portable PCs on the site.Note: The server DNS name is required for this procedure.To install or upgrade the MCU Client software, complete these steps:
On the computer (server, PC, or portable PC) where the MCU Client software was installed, note the location of the MCU Client software.The following folder is the default location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\catmstar32\MachineConfiguration\Client
Store the "InstallMachineConfigurationUtilityClient.exe" executable file on the computer being used as the client.
Right-click the "InstallMachineConfigurationUtilityClient.exe" executable file and select "Run as administrator". The install wizard runs.

Select "Next".

Browse to the folder where the MCU Client software will be installed, or accept the default location, then select "Next".

Check that the destination location is correct and select Install.

Select Finish. The application file "ConfigurationManager.Client" appears in the selected folder.
When the install process completes, double-click the MCU Client desktop icon to run the software.
Enter the "Server DNS Name" to connect the MCU Client to the MCU Server.The MCU Client software has now been updated to the required version.Checking the MCU Server Version Number
To check the version number of the current MCU, complete these steps:
Right-click the "ConfigurationManager. Server.exe" executable file.
Select "Properties" from the list of options.
Select the "Detail" tab. The "File version" field lists the version number.
