Downshift Control
The downshift control uses the following components:
Transmission speed sensor
Engine speed sensor
Transmission control
Auto/Manual switch
Downshift switchWith the Auto/Manual switch in the manual position, the downshift switch is only active when the speed selector is set to second gear. Pressing and releasing the downshift switch will cause the transmission to downshift to first gear. The transmission will remain in first gear until the shift lever is moved, either speed or direction change.Auto Mode - With the Auto/Manual switch in the auto position, the downshift switch is active in all speeds. The ECM continually monitors transmission speed and actual gear in order to calculate the downshift speed for the present inputs. If the downshift switch is pressed and machine speed is less than the downshift speed, the transmission will be downshifted one gear. Holding the downshift switch closed will result in continued downshifts until the machine is in first gear. The downshifts will occur at a minimum of 3 second intervals. Operation of the autoshift function returns to normal 5 seconds after the downshift switch is released or after a direction shift.Load Check
The ride control function is for the 924G, 928G, and IT928G.The load check uses the following components:
Load Check Switch
Transmission Control
Load Check Relay The load check function is an option that is determined by the options code plug. This feature is enabled when the operator places the load check switch in the ON position. In the ON position, the ECM energizes the load check relay. Energizing the relay allows the implements to be lowered to the ground with the lift lever.Note: The models (24 series and 28 series) can have the load check function or the ride control function. The models can NOT have both features.
