The new alternator connects to the engine in the same way as the former alternator. However, the wiring has changed. Refer to Illustration 1 for the new locations of the terminals and refer to "Instructions for Installation of 100 Amp Adapter" for the procedure to install the adapter.

204-7449 Alternator (A) A flat on the adapter must be parallel to the rear face of the alternator. (2) 192-7469 Adapter (7) LocknutWhile you hold the jam nut on the B positive terminal with a wrench, remove the existing locknut and the existing washers. While you hold the jam nut with a wrench, install 192-7469 Adapter onto the stud. Tighten the adapter to a torque of 7 1 N m (62.0 8.8 lb in). Do not overtighten the adapter.
