Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the carburetor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Carburetor - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove six screws (2) and the lockwashers . Remove carburetor body (1).

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.Spring force will be released when covers are removed.Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
Remove six screws (3) and the lockwashers . Remove cover (4).

Remove spring (5).

Remove screw (6) and the lockwasher . Remove jet (7) and O-ring seal (8). Check the condition of the O-ring seal. If the O-ring seal is damaged or worn, use a new part for replacement.

Remove gas valve (9).

Remove screws (11), piston plate (12) and O-ring seal (10).
Remove piston (13).

Remove O-ring seal (14). Check the condition of the O-ring seal. If the O-ring seal is damaged or worn, use a new part for replacement.
Remove shaft (15).

Turn over carburetor body (1) and remove screws (18), plate (17), and diaphragm (16).
Remove air valve (19) from carburetor body (1).
