Use Tooling (A) to ensure that bridge dowels (4) are straight and installed to a height of 105.0 2.0 mm (4.10 0.08 inch) above the surface of the cylinder head.
Apply Tooling (B) to the bridge dowels and apply Tooling (B) to the bore of each valve bridge (3). Install the valve bridges in the original location and loosen the adjustment screws.
Use the procedure which follows to adjust the valve bridges.
Apply clean engine oil to the lubrication passage of the valve bridge (hole in top surface of cast web).
Back off the adjustment screw and press straight down on the top contact surface of valve bridge (3) with a force of 50 10 N (11 2 lb).
Turn the adjustment screw clockwise until the adjustment screw contacts the valve stem. A light touch is required to determine when contact is made.
Turn the adjustment screw for an additional 45 5 degrees in order to equalize clearance with the dowel. This is 1/8 of a turn.
Hold the adjustment screw in this position, and tighten the locknut to a torque of 100 15 N m (75 11 lb ft).
Do this procedure for both valve bridges. Apply Tooling (B) to the top contact of both valve bridges and the unit injector.
Apply clean engine oil to each end of pushrods (5) and install the pushrods in the valve lifters. Install the pushrods in the original location.

Place rocker shaft assembly (2) on the rocker shaft support.
Ensure that the sockets of the pushrods are engaged with the ball screws on the rocker arm.
Loosen the adjustment screws on the rocker arms.
Use Tooling (C) in order to keep the rocker shaft assembly centered on the rocker shaft support. Tighten bolts (1) that hold the rocker shaft assembly to the rocker shaft support to a torque of 430 60 N m (317 44 lb ft).
Adjust the valve lash. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Valve Lash and Valve Bridge Adjustment".
Adjust the unit injector timing. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Fuel Injector Timing".End By: Install the valve cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Cover - Remove and Install".
