Information:

All D379, D398, D399, G379, G398, G399 EnginesDescription of Change: A new gasket is now used on the side covers for the water passages in the cylinder block on the above engines. The new gasket has a bead (deposit) of sealant material on both surfaces to help prevent water leakage.Adaptable As: The new 2W5659 Gasket is a direct replacement for the former 1F4419 Gasket which is canceled. Before installation of the new gasket, thoroughly clean the surfaces of the cylinder block and water passage cover that come into contact with each other. The side cover bolts must be tightened to the correct sequence and standard bolt torque of 43 7 N m (32 5 lb ft). After replacement of the gasket, tighten the cover bolts as shown in the diagram that follows.
