The Panelview 1000 terminals have a maximum operating temperature of 135 °C (275 °F). Do not install the terminals in environments in which atmosphere gases have ignition temperatures that are less than 135 °C (275 °F).

Illustration 1 shows the dimensions of the cutout that should be used. A full-size template is shipped with the unit. The template should be used in order to mark the dimensions of the cutout on the panel.Mount the terminal in a panel or in an enclosure in order to protect the internal circuitry. The terminal meets NEMA Type 12/13 and 4X (indoor use) ratings only when the terminal is mounted in a panel or an enclosure with the equivalent rating.When the unit is mounted, the following condition must be met: There should be 51 mm (2 inch) of clearance on all sides of the unit. The clearance is necessary for mounting, air flow, and wiring connections.

(1) Memory Card (2) Retainer for the Memory CardThere needs to be at least 222 mm (8.73 inch) of clearance at the rear of the unit. This clearance is necessary so that a memory card can be removed or installed. See illustration 2.Installing a Terminal in a Panel
Use the template that is provided with the terminal in order to cut an opening in the panel. Remove any sharp edges or burrs.

(1) Gasket
Make sure that the sealing gasket is properly positioned on the terminal. See illustration 3. The gasket forms a compression seal. Do not use sealing compounds.
Place the terminal in the cutout.

Mounting clips

Install the six mounting clips. See illustration 4. The ends of the clips slide into the slots on the sides of the terminal. See Illustration 5.
Tighten the screws on the mounting clips by hand until the gasket seal contacts the mounting surface uniformly.
Alternately tighten the screws of the mounting clips to a torque of 1.13 N m (10 lb in). Do not overtighten the screws.

Remove the 2 protective labels that cover the top vents of the terminal. See illustration 6.
