(A) Machining locator lug.Use an air carbon arc torch to minimize the heat input to the housing. Trim off the locator lug (A) as close as practical to the contour of the housing. Then, grind the area smooth with a grinder.
In addition to machining locator lug removal, other steps can be taken to minimize the possibility of belt untracking:
* Add cleaner bar group to prevent packing of dirt/debris between drivers, or between the belt and drivers or idlers. See the Reference Article.* Increase the nitrogen pressure in the tension cylinders to 1860 kPa (270 psi).
