Information:
Reference: Service Magazine, September 5, 1983, Page 2. The article "New Inspection Report Forms Available" gives information for inspection and report forms for earthmoving equipment. A new "Predelivery Inspection Report" form is available for industrial engines and related products. The new form is easy to use and provides a step by step approach for inspection of the engine and related driven equipment. The new form number is 01-087885-00. When the forms are ordered through the Dealer Terminal System, the number must be changed to 00087885.
The new form has two parts. The first part is a checklist that can be used as a guide during inspections.
The checklist is divided into four sections. These sections show the steps that should be taken during inspection:
1. Visual inspection2. Service points and fluid levels3. Operation4. After operationEach item should be inspection and checked off. Any problems should be indicated in the available blank space. When the inspection is finished, the report section can be completed. Use a combination of the part number/group number like a regular SIMS report.
When it is difficult to assign a part number to a problem (for example, low fluid level or an operation problem) use the special group numbers which are listed at the bottom of the form.
