The following improvements have been made to the assembly process:
Increase in the tightening torque from 68 to 78 N m (50 to 57 lb ft) to 85 5 N m (63 4 lb ft) has been made in 424B new transmission yoke bolt joint.
Longer bolt ( 6V-8675 Bolt (4)) with Loctite 243 and thicker washer ( 521-5335 Washer (1)) is being used in the yoke joints.These improvements will provide better retention of the yoke bolts and prevent yoke seal leakage. Thus increase the service life of the yoke seal and yoke bolt.The procedure is effective in production on the machines serial number of S/N:JTH00259-UP and transmission serial number of ; S/N:CHS04321-UP.Field Rework Procedure
Follow the below instructions for the machine serial number S/N:JRN1-UP and transmission serial number ; S/N:CHS1-04320.
In both yoke bolt loosening issue and seal leakage issue, change the 5M-9738 Lip Type Seal (5), 3P-0648 O-Ring Seal (3), 6V-8675 Bolt (4), and 521-5335 Washer (1) with the same part numbers.
In the event of seal leakage, and if the yoke bolt (4) is not in hand loosening level, check the yoke bolt (4) torque and report in the claim story.
Inspect the seal seating surface on the 383-7979 Yoke As (2). If any damage is observed on the 5M-9738 Lip Type Seal (5), discard the 383-7979 Yoke As (2).

(A) Loctite 243
Apply three equally spaced drops of Loctite 243 along the bottom 18 mm of threads on the bolt (4). Tighten to 85 5 N m (63 4 lb ft).
Allow one hour for the thread sealant to cure before operating the machine.
