22. Remove servo piston (27) in the direction shown. Remove the glide ring on spool (27). 23. Remove barrel assembly (32) and port plate (33). 24. Remove bearing (34) from barrel assembly (32). 25. Remove synchronizer shaft kit (35). Synchronizing shaft kit (35) consists of:* (36) synchronizing shaft* (37) rollers (six)* (38) support pins (two) 26. Remove eight bolts (39).27. Install a puller as shown. Pull flange end (40) from the motor housing. 28. Press lip seal (41) from flange end (40).29. Remove O-ring seal (42). 30. Use a suitable press to remove main shaft kit (43). 31. Main shaft kit (43) removed from motor housing (46).32. Remove pistons rings (45) from pistons (44).Assemble Propel Motor
Most of the components in the motor have critical, machined surfaces. Do not damage the surfaces during assembly of the motor. Protect all exposed surfaces, openings and ports from damage and foreign material. Lubricate all machined surfaces with clean hydraulic oil prior to assembly.
1. Main retaining kit (43) is not serviceable. Install piston rings (45) on pistons (44).
New piston rings (45) must be installed so that the surface of the rings conform to the shape of the piston. Radial identification marks are located on the outer side of the piston ring.
2. Use a suitable press to install main rotating kit (43) into housing (46). Short bolts (22) can be installed in housing (46) to level it. 3. Install lip seal (41).4. Install O-ring seal (42). 5. Install flange end (40) to motor housing (46). Install eight bolts (39). Tighten the eight bolts to a torque of 85 N m (65 lb ft). 6. Apply petroleum jelly to one of the support pins (38). Install one of the support pins (38) as shown. 7. Install bearing (34) to depth "A". depth "A" = 13.8 .5 mm (0.54 .001 in) 8. Apply petroleum jelly to the other support pin (38). Install the other support pin (38) to barrel assembly (32). 9. Apply petroleum jelly to rollers (37) Position six rollers (37) so that the recess on each roller faces inward, toward synchronizing shaft (36). Install six rollers (37) to synchronizing shaft (36). 10. Rotate main shaft kit (43) to position shown. Tip three pistons (44) forward as shown. Install synchronizing shaft kit (35). 11. Install barrel assembly (32) as follows:a. Start by installing the lower six pistons (44) into barrel assembly (32).b. Tilt barrel assembly (32) forward to engage rollers (37) into barrel assembly (32).c. Start support pin (38) into barrel assembly (32).d. Lift barrel assembly (32) slightly and guide remaining three pistons (44) into barrel assembly (32).e. Maintain an inward force on barrel assembly (32) pushing barrel assembly (32) to the forward position.f. When barrel assembly (32) is fully installed there will be very little rotational free play between barrel assembly (32) and the shaft in main shaft kit (43).
