The output shaft of the torque converter (4) sends the power through the drive shaft (3) to the input shaft of the planetary transmission (2). The planetary transmission (2) has six clutches which are hydraulically engaged. The five planetary systems are used with the six clutches to give six speeds forward and one speed reverse. The direction and speeds are changed manually.The output shaft of the planetary transmission (2) sends the power to the transfer gears (1). From the transfer gears (1), the power goes through the drive shaft (6) to the pinion gear (7). The pinion gear (7) sends the power through the differential (8). The differential (8) sends the power to the final drives (9) and wheels (10) .Note: The splines are used as connections between the axles and the sun gears of the final drives. When the sun gears turn, the planetary gears in the carrier move around the inside of the stationary ring gear. This action turns the carrier and the wheels.
