Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the cooling system coolant into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Open air valves (1) in order to release the system air pressure.

Disconnect hose (2) and hose assemblies (4), (5), and (6) from air compressor (3) .

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to air compressor (3). The weight of air compressor (3) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb). Remove nuts (7) and air compressor (3). Remove seal (8) (not shown).Removal Procedure

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to air compressor (3). The weight of air compressor (3) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb). Install seal (8) (not shown). Position air compressor (3) and install nuts (7) .

Connect hose (2) and hose assemblies (4), (5), and (6) onto air compressor (3) .

Close air valves (1) .
Fill the cooling system coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
