Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Machine Preparation
Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface. Move the machine away from any machines that are in operation. Move the machine away from other personnel.
Permit only one operator on the machine at one time. A service person may be in the area in order to instruct the operator. Check that all other personnel are away from the machine at all times.
Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position. Activate the parking brake. Activate the secondary brakes. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground. Lower the apron. Turn off the engine. If the machine is equipped with a rear engine, turn off the rear engine.
Move the cushion-hitch control lever to the LOCKDOWN position. Make sure that the rear bracket assembly of the cushion-hitch is resting on the front hitch assembly.
Move the scraper controls in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system.

(1) Filler cap for the hydraulic oil tank
Slowly loosen filler cap (1) on the hydraulic oil tank in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank. Allow the pressure in the hydraulic oil tank to be relieved before removing filler cap (1) .
After the engines have been turned off, wait at least 3 minutes. Waiting at least 3 minutes will allow the hydraulic oil pressure to be relieved. The hydraulic oil pressure must be relieved before loosening, tightening or adjusting the following items:
