Filler tube (2) may be replaced with a flexible hose in order to improve performance of the breather. Mounting of the breather (1) should be approximately two feet above the transmission. The flexible hose must have a continuous downward slope from the breather (1) to the transmission case.Note: Inspect the breather within 3 to 4 days. If air conditions are dirty, then inspect the breather daily.
Remove the breather cap.
Wash the breather cap in a clean, nonflammable solvent. Allow the breather cap to air dry.
Install the breather cap. CX31 Transmission

Mounting of the breather (1) should be approximately two feet above the transmission. The flexible hose must have a continuous downward slope from the breather (1) to the transmission case.Note: Inspect the breather within 3 to 4 days. If operating conditions are dirty, then inspect the breather daily.
Remove the breather.Note: For a standard breather, perform Step 2. Replace the optional 258-2829 Breather for the integral pump drive, as required. Replace the optional breather after every 500 service hours or 6 months.
Wash the breather in a clean, nonflammable solvent. Allow the breather cap to air dry.
Install the breather.
