Joystick (1) Pivot Bolt (2) Cam (3) Detent (4) Adjustment BoltThis adjustment changes the value of the duty cycle when the joystick is in the NEUTRAL position.Note: The duty cycle should be 50% when the joystick is in the NEUTRAL position.
At the back of the harness connector for the sensor, insert the probe of the 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the signal wire (contact 3).
At the back of the harness connector for the sensor, insert the other 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the ground wire (contact 2).
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Monitor the signal of the sensor with the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter .
Move the joystick to the NEUTRAL position. Check the signal. The signal should be operating at a 50% duty cycle.
Ensure that the joystick is in the NEUTRAL position.
Loosen adjustment bolt (4). Do not remove the bolt.
In order to adjust the duty cycle, move the adjustment bolt (4) forward or move the adjustment bolt (4) rearward.
Tighten the adjustment bolt (4) .Expected Result:The duty cycle is 50%.Results:
OK - The duty cycle is 50%. Go to Test Step 10
NOT OK - The duty cycle is not 50%.Repair: Exit this procedure. Perform this procedure again. Stop.
NOT OK - The duty cycle cannot be adjusted to 50%. The sensor has failed. Replace the sensor. Exit this procedure. Perform this procedure again. Go to Test Step 10Test Step 10. CHECK IF THE PROBLEM REMAINS.
Inspect the harness connectors and clean the contacts of the machine harness connectors.
Reconnect all harness connectors.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Operate the machine and operate the sensor through the operating range of the sensor.
Check if the backup alarm is still inactive.Expected Result:The backup alarm is active.Results:
OK - The backup alarm is active. The problem was probably caused by a poor connection at one of the connectors that was disconnected and reconnected. Resume normal operation. Stop.
NOT OK - The backup alarm is still inactive. Repair: The backup alarm has failed. Replace the backup alarm. Stop.
