At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot water or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns. Look at the sight gauge to check the coolant level. The coolant level should be in the green range. If necessary, remove the fill cap only after the engine has been stopped and the cap is cool enough to remove with your bare hand. Remove the cooling system fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system condition contains alkali that can cause personal injury. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes and do not drink. Allow cooling system components to cool before draining.
Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent foreign material from entering the system.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the breather filter cap only when the engine is stopped and the breather filter cap is cool enough to touch. Slowly loosen the breather filter cap to release any pressure in the hydraulic tank. Be cautious of hot hydraulic oil when any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal.1. Drain the coolant from the radiator and the transmission oil cooler.2. Drain the oil from the transmission oil cooler. 3. Remove the bolts and disconnect hose assemblies (1) from the retarder control valve.4. Disconnect two hose assemblies (2) from the fitting. 5. Remove power cord (3) from the coolant heater. 6. Put a suitable floorjack under the transmission oil cooler or put straps on the transmission oil cooler to support it after it is removed from the engine.7. Remove bolt (4) to loosen the retaining clip for the breather tube.8. Remove bolts (5), bonnet (6) and spacer (7) from the transmission oil cooler, engine and engine oil cooler. 9. Remove bolts (8) that hold transmission oil cooler (9) to the engine and engine oil cooler. Remove transmission oil cooler (9) from the engine. The weight of the transmission oil cooler is 45 Kg (100 lb).Install Transmission Oil Cooler
1. Put gaskets (1) in position on the bonnet.2. Use a strap or a suitable floorjack to put transmission oil cooler (2) in position on the engine and engine oil cooler.3. Install bolts (3) that hold the front of the transmission oil cooler to the engine and engine oil cooler. 4. Install O-ring seal (4) on bonnet (5) and put clean oil on it.5. Install the gaskets, spacer (6) and bonnet (5) on the transmission oil cooler, the engine and the engine oil cooler.6. Install the bolts that holds breather tube retaining clip (7). 7. Install the power cord on coolant heater (8) 8. Connect two hoses (9) to the fitting.9. Make sure the O-ring seals are in position in hose assemblies (10) and connect the hose assemblies to the transmission oil cooler.
