Remove the rear axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle (Rear) - Remove".
Drain the oil from the rear axle into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Typical Example
Place the rear oscillating axle (1) on Tooling (A) and use suitable cribbing on the opposite side to keep axle (1) from rolling.
Remove two of bolts (2) from rear trunnion support (3).

Use a suitable lifting device to remove rear trunnion support (3) from the rear trunnion. The weight of rear trunnion support (3) is approximately 242 kg (532 lb).

Attach a suitable lifting device to trunnion (11). The weight of trunnion (11) is approximately 64 kg (140 lb).
Remove bolts (12).

Install two of bolts (12) in the two threaded holes that are in trunnion (11).
Tighten bolts (12) evenly to separate the trunnion from the rear axle housing.
Use the suitable lifting device to remove trunnion (11).
