When the recoil spring is installed, tighten retainer (2) until the retainer bottoms out. When retainer (2) bottoms out, the retainer will be 6.0 + 3.6 - 2.9 mm (0.24 + 0.14 - 0.11 inch) from the end of tube (6) .
Loosen retainer (2) enough to install retainer lockplates (1) .
