Remove the transmission control valve from the machine.
Disassemble the transmission hydraulic control valve group.
For 994H and 994K sales models, disassemble 353-5018 Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve Gp unto 8E-1711 Pressure Selector Body.
For 994F sales model, disassemble 253-7917 Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve Gp unto 8E-1711 Pressure Selector Body.
Remove or reverse the identification tag (B) marked with 153-7909. The valve should be identified with part number 552-7090.
Rework 8E-1711 Pressure Selector Body and transform it into new revised body by hand tapping the two existing solenoid ports (A) and adding 348-3582 Orifice Plugs (1) into each hole as given in below steps.

Mark first full thread of 3/8–16 UNC plug chamfer and hand tap three to five threads partially.

Tap the two solenoid ports with plug tap to a depth of four to six full threads. Keep the valve orientation to horizontal position or position the solenoid ports slightly downward to allow the metal chips to fall out and away from the rest of the valve.

Remove the burr from threaded solenoid port entrance as shown in Illustration above.

Remove the metal chips out of threaded solenoid port as shown in Illustration above.

Brush and dump the metal chips out of end of solenoid port to keep the contaminant from migrating throughout valve. Position the solenoid ports between horizontal and downward orientation to avoid contaminants falling into valve.

Wash the metal chips down and out of solenoid cavity, then wash the entire valve as shown in Illustration above.

(1) 348-3582 Orifice Plug
Install two 348-3582 Orifice Plug (1) of 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) into solenoid ports (A).

Torque the orifice plug (1) to 8.0 1.0 N m (70.8 8.9 lb in).

Again wash the valve after installing orifice plugs (1) having the solenoid port end of valve pointed downwards to aid in thorough flushing of any debris out and away from the rest of the valve.

Again assemble and safeguard the valve until installation onto transmission.Note: Refer to SEHS0362 Special Instruction during assembly for installing 5P-6261 Retaining Rings to avoid over stretching. Use 446-5933 installation tool to install snap rings onto spools.
