Schematic of the Upshift solenoid This diagnostic code is recorded when the Scraper Transmission ECM finds the current in the Upshift solenoid circuit above normal.Possible causes are:
Failed solenoid.
Upshift solenoid energize wire shorted to ground.
Scraper Transmission ECM failure, but unlikely.Note: Poor connections are often the cause of a problem in electrical circuits. Before performing this procedure, inspect all the machine harnesses and connectors involved in the circuit. Make sure to verify that all of the connections in the circuit are clean, secure, and in good condition. Correct any problems found with any of the connections. Verify the diagnostic code CID 0707 FMI 06 is still active, before continuing with this procedure.Note: This test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore all those created diagnostic codes now, but clear those codes after the cause for the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the harness connector from the Upshift solenoid.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Observe the status of the CID 0707 FMI 06 diagnostic code.Expected Result:The CID 0707 FMI 06 diagnostic code is no longer active. Results:
YES - The diagnostic code is no longer active. The solenoid has failed.Repair: Repeat this test step, to verify that the solenoid has failed, and replace the solenoid. Go to Test Step 3
NO - The diagnostic code remains active. The solenoid is not causing the problem. Go to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE SOLENOID CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND.
The solenoid remains disconnected from the harness connector.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the J2 and J2 harness connectors from the Scraper Transmission ECM.
At the J2 harness connector, measure the resistance from contact J2-2 (wire 744-BU) to all possible sources of ground in the J1 and J2 ECM connectors. Expected Result:Each resistance measurement is greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
YES - All resistance measurements are greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is correct. Go to test step 3.
NO - A resistance measurement is not greater than 5000 ohms. There is a short in the machine harness.Repair: The short is between the solenoid wire and the circuit with the low resistance measurement. Repair or replace the machine harness. Go to Test Step 3.Test Step 3. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE REMAINS.
Reconnect all harness connectors. Make sure that the connectors are fully seated. Observe that the clips on each connector are securely fastened.
Reconnect all harness connectors.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Clear all inactive diagnostic codes.
Operate the machine.
Check the status of the CID 0707 FMI 06 codeResults:
YES - The CID 0707 FMI 06 code is no longer active. The code does not exist at this time. Repair: The cause for that code has been corrected. Return the machine to normal operations.STOP
NO - The CID 0707 FMI 06 code is still active. The cause for the code has not
