390-9006 Bearings that are used in 364-8420 Drive Gearbox Groups packaged on some G3500 generator sets are at risk of not achieving expected operational life.Solution
Perform a gearbox oil sample test periodically as recommended in the Operation Maintenance Manual to confirm that no deterioration of the gearbox bearings is occurring. Before performing the oil sampling, upgrade the location of the oil sampling port so that it is located before the oil filter as shown below.

Previous Oil Sample Location
Remove and move the oil sampling location. Plug the port using a 9S-4182 Plug and 214-7566 O-Ring Seal.

Remove the 382-1829 Fluid Sampling Valve Gp. Subassemble the new oil sample valve using Illustration 3.
Install the new oil sample valve assembly in the new location before the oil filter.
