Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position and start the engine.
At the left steer solenoid harness connector insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the voltage supply wire (X755-WH).
Measure the voltage when the rear steer jog switch is moved to the left position. Expected Result:The voltage measured is approximately 24 VDC.Results:
YES - The voltage measured is approximately 24 VDC. Proceed to test step 4.
NO - Voltage was NOT present. Proceed to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK FOR POWER AT THE FAN CONTROL MODULE.Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position and start the engine.
At the back of the fan control harness connector insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the voltage supply wire (X755-WH).
Measure the voltage when the rear steer jog switch is moved to the left position. The voltage should be 24 VDC. Expected Result:The voltage measured is approximately 24 VDC.Results:
YES - The voltage measured is approximately 24 VDC.Repair: If voltage is present troubleshoot the circuit and the machine harness.STOP
NO - Voltage was NOT present.Repair: If no voltage is present the rear steer switch may have failed. If no voltage is present troubleshoot the circuit and the machine harness between the rear steer jog switch and the operator display. If no voltage is present the fan control module may have failed. This is unlikely. Proceed to test step 3.Test Step 3. CHECK FOR GROUND AT THE LEFT REAR STEER SOLENOID.
Illustration 2 g03336056
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
At the rear steer left solenoid connector insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the ground supply wire (200-BK).
Measure the continuity from the (200-BK) wire to machine frame ground. If no continuity is present troubleshoot the circuit and the machine harness.Expected Result:The resistance measured is less than 5 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance measured is less than 5 ohms. Proceed to test step 4.
NO - The resistance is greater than 5 ohmsRepair: Troubleshoot the circuit and the machine harness. Inspect the harness connectors and clean the contacts of the harness connectors. Check the wires for damage to the insulation that is caused by excessive heat, corrosion, or chafing.STOPTest Step 4. MEASURE THE COIL RESISTANCE AT THE RIGHT REAR STEER SOLENOID.Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
At the rear left steer solenoid unplug the machine harness connector. Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter Gp and check for resistance of the coil. Expected Result:The resistance measured is approximately 18 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance measured is approximately 18 ohms. Proceed to test step 5.
NO - The resistance measured is less than 5 ohms.Repair: The solenoid has failed. Replace the solenoid.STOPTest Step 5. CALIBRATE THE REAR STEER SOLENOID.
Calibrate the rear steer left solenoid valve. Refer to Testing, and Adjusting, KENR3136, "Rear steer valve - Calibrate".Expected Result:The calibration procedure was performed successfully. Results:
YES - The calibration procedure was performed successfully.STOP
