6V-9509 Face Seal Plug 2 Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove tube assembly (1).
Remove shield assemblies (4).
Disconnect harness assembly (3).
Remove temperature sensor (2).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to exhaust elbow (5).

Remove bolts (8) and nuts (6).
Remove bracket (9).
Remove exhaust elbow (5) and the gasket from turbocharger (7). The weight of the exhaust elbow is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Installation Procedure

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to exhaust elbow (5).

Position exhaust elbow (5) and the gasket onto turbocharger (7). The weight of the exhaust elbow is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).
Position bracket (9).
Apply Tooling (B) to nuts (6).
Install bolts (8) and nuts (6).

Apply Tooling (B) to temperature sensor (2).
Install temperature sensor (2). Tighten temperature sensor (2) to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft).
Connect harness assembly (3).
Install shield assemblies (4).
Install tube assembly (1).
