Installation Procedure
Check the condition of all O-ring seals and gaskets that were removed from the transmission oil cooler. If any of the O-ring seals or gaskets are damaged or worn, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install bolts (37), bonnet (38), and the gasket to the transmission oil cooler.

Install bolts (35), bonnet (36), and the gasket to the transmission oil cooler.

Attach a nylon lifting strap and a hoist to transmission oil cooler (12). Position transmission oil cooler (12) and the gasket to the engine oil cooler. Install six bolts (34) that secure the transmission oil cooler to the engine. The weight of the transmission oil cooler is 34 kg (75 lb).

Position wire harness (30), wire harness clip (33), and wire harness clip (32) to the transmission oil cooler. Install bolt (29) that secures wire harness clip (33), and wire harness clip (32) to the transmission oil cooler.
Connect wire harness (28) and install the wire harness in wire harness clip (32) .

Connect hose (24) to the transmission oil cooler and install hose clamp (25) .
Slide hose (26) and hydraulic fitting (27) along pipe (20) toward the transmission oil cooler.
Install hydraulic fitting (27), gasket (23), and two bolts (22) to the transmission oil cooler. Tighten hose clamp (21) .

Position mounting pads (16), (18), hose clip (15), hose (14), and pipe (19) to mounting pad (13). Install bolts (17) .

Position hose clip (9), the hose, and transmission oil cooler (12) to bracket (10). Install bolts (11) and the nuts that secure transmission oil cooler (12), hose clamp (9), and the hose to bracket (10) .

Install the O-ring seals in hoses (5) and (8) and position the hoses to the transmission oil cooler. Install eight bolts (7) and four half clamps (6) in order to connect hoses (5) and (8).

Use a suitable floor jack to position access plate (4) to the machine frame. Install bolts (3) to access plate (4). The weight of access plate (4) is 200 kg (441 lb).

Use a suitable floor jack to position access plate (1) to the machine frame. Install bolts (2) to access plate (1). The weight of access plate (1) is 75 kg (165 lb).
Fill the radiator to the proper level with coolant. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU6588 for the proper procedure. Run the engine in order to circulate the coolant.
