Note: Refer to the electrical diagrams above to determine which Electronic Implement control is equipped on your machine.This diagnostic code is associated with Loader Aux Valve Port A Solenoid. The FMI 03 means that the ECM has determined that the voltage of the solenoid circuit is above normal.The possible causes of the diagnostic code are listed:
The energize circuit of the solenoid is shorted to the +battery circuit.
The Electronic Implement control has failed. This is unlikely.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear these diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected.Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 2242 FMI 03 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use a digital multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.Test Step 1. CHECK THE ENERGIZE CIRCUIT OF THE SOLENOID FOR A SHORT TO THE +BATTERY CIRCUIT.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Disconnect the wires from the back of the connector at the Electronic Implement control.
At the machine harness connector for the solenoid, measure the voltage from contact 1 963-GN(Green) to frame ground. At the machine harness connector for the solenoid, measure the voltage from contact 2 K927-BU(Blue) to frame ground. Expected Result:The voltage is 0 VDC.Results:
OK - There are no shorts in the wires. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - A voltage is present in the wires. There is a short in the machine harness or in the wires. The short is to a separate voltage source.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. Ensure that the fix has corrected the problem.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE CONTROL.Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position. The machine harness connector(s) for the Electronic Implement control remain disconnected.
At the harness connector of the Implement Electronic control, use a 151-6320 Removal Tool to remove the energize wire for the solenoid 963-GN(Green) and the socket contact from the harness connector.
Reconnect the machine harness connector(s) to the control.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Observe the status of the diagnostic code. Expected Result:The FMI 03 diagnostic code is no longer active. A FMI 05 diagnostic code is now active.Results:
YES - The FMI 03 diagnostic code is no longer active. A FMI 05 diagnostic code has been activated after the energize circuit of the solenoid was disconnected. The control has responded correctly to the open circuit condition in the solenoid circuit. Reinstall the energize wire of the solenoid into the correct space of the connector of the control before proceeding to the next test step. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The diagnostic code remains active. The status of the active diagnostic code did not change when the energize wire of the solenoid was disconnected from the control.
