(13) Generator CoverNote: The generator output voltage is directly proportional to the rpm of the generator.
Remove the cover and ensure that the generator coupling is not rotating.
Place a small strip of the 1U-6605 Reflective Tape on the coupling of the hydraulic motor and generator.
Restart the engine and run the engine at high idle.
Use the 1U-6602 Photo-Tachometer and measure the rpm of the reflective tape.Expected Result:The generator speed should measure 1800 50 RPM. Results:
YES - The generator speed is 1800 50 RPM. Proceed to test step 8.
NO - The generator speed is too high resulting in high output voltage.Repair: Reset the generator speed to 1800 50 rpm. See Testing and Adjusting, "Generator Set - Test and Adjust". Verify that the generator output voltage is 230 10 volts.STOPTest Step 8. INCREASE THE GENERATOR SHUNT FIELD RESISTANCE IN ORDER TO DECREASE THE GENERATOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE

(14) "Resistor Cover"Refer to the System Schematic, RENR3125. Refer to resistors "R101A" and "R101B" in the system schematic. The adjustment of the jumper wire "101D" has been adjusted too close to wire "101C". This will result in a high generator output voltage. Also, this will result in a generator overload. The adjustment wire must be moved in the opposite direction. This will reduce the generator output voltage.Note: There is no electrical shock hazard in this circuit (24 volts DC), but the resistors can be very hot. Use care and the proper equipment.
Set the Digital Multimeter on auto setting or set the multimeter on the 400 VDC scale. Connect the positive test lead to "PDB151" and the negative test lead to "PDB152".
Run the engine
