This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44392" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
On certain C18 Marine Generator Sets and Marine Auxiliary Engines with an EMCP, pressing the Stop button on the front of the EMCP will not stop the engine. C18 Marine Generator Sets and Marine Auxiliary Engines in Group 2 may not start if the engine is flashed with new software without changing emergency stop contact.

ACTION REQUIRED
A parameter called "Fuel Enable Input" has been added in ET Configuration screen under Configuration Group 1. Setting this parameter to "ON" will allow the Engine ECM to look for the CAN Fuel Disable signal from EMCP panel. Functionality of the Stop button on the EMCP will be restored.
Group 1.
1. Flash engine ECM with the new engine software that is applicable to the engine serial number being serviced.
2. Engines equipment with EMCP Panels - Turn on Fuel Enable Input parameter in configuration screen using CAT ET please reference Image 1.
Note: If you do not turn on the Fuel Enable Input in ET, engine will not shutdown using
