Description of Change: A new oil pump group is used on the above engines. The new oil pump provides a 30 percent increase in oil flow capacity. The increased capacity is required for future engine development. Adaptable To: The new 106-9873 Engine Oil Pump Group (includes the new 106-9872 Engine Oil Pump Group) replaces the 8N-6152 Engine Oil Pump Group (includes the 4P-5638 Engine Oil Pump Group). Chart A shows the effectivity of the new 106-9873 Engine Oil Pump Group. The new engine oil pump group is adaptable to earlier engines in conjunction with oil pump adapter changes (see the Reference Article, and the appropriate fuel injection lines group changes (see Additional Changes Required To Install 106-9873 Engine Oil Pump Group In Earlier Engines). However, the new oil pump group is only recommended for engines with two piece pistons.
