Removal Procedure
Start By:
Release the hydraulic system pressure.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.

Disconnect harness assemblies (3). Remove bolts (1) and panel assembly (2).

Remove bracket assembly (4).

Attach a suitable lifting device to bail cylinder (6). The weight of bail cylinder (6) is approximately 35 kg (80 lb). Remove bolts (5) and disconnect brackets (8). Remove pin assembly (9) and bail cylinder (6).
Remove pin assembly (7) and brackets (8) from bail cylinder (6). Installation Procedure
Install bail cylinder (6) in the reverse order of removal. Disassembly and Assembly Information

Illustration 4 g02715721 (1) Lubricate the threads of locknut (1) with lubricant. Tighten locknut (1) to a torque of 850 85 N m (625 63 lb ft). (2) Lubricate the sealing lip of buffer seal (2) with lubricant that is being sealed. (3) Lubricate the sealing lip of u cup seal (3) with lubricant that is being sealed. (4) Apply Tooling (B) to the groove of wiper seal (4) prior to installation. Lubricate the sealing lip of wiper seal (4) with lubricant that is being sealed. (5) Lubricate the threads of head assembly (5) with lubricant. Tighten head assembly (5) to a torque of 600 130 N m (440 96 lb ft).
