Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
When Cat® Fleet onboard hardware is installed on the above mentioned trucks, the splice in the wire (130-RD) of 379-9514 Cab Harness As will cause the Fleet onboard backup battery to supply power to the truck when the battery power of truck is isolated with the master shut off.Solution
When installing Fleet onboard hardware and harnessing in the cabs of machines that are listed above, perform the procedure listed below:Note: The above mentioned trucks came with a cab display harness that contains Ethernet connections and a connector behind the buddy seat for a 167-8984 Battery Gp . Due to harnessing issues that will be addressed above, the 379-9514 Cab Harness As will need to be replaced with the 362-9052 Monitor Harness As .
Install the 362-9052 Monitor Harness As in parallel with the factory cab harness.Note: Use the Ethernet connections only on the 362-9052 Monitor Harness As and not on the factory cab harness.
Connect the Ethernet and power connectors at the end of Color Multi-Purpose Display (CMPD) from the 362-9052 Monitor Harness As to the CMPD.
Connect the Video and CDL connectors at the CMPD end from the cab harness to the CMPD. Connect the power connector from the factory cab harness to the CIODS jumper of the 362-9052 Monitor Harness As .Note: Do not use the factory cab harness Ethernet connection.
Connect the backup battery to the 362-9052 Monitor Harness As . Refer to Special Instruction, REHS7413, "Installation Guide for Cat® Fleet Onboard System".Note: Do not connect the backup battery to the connector "CN-C5" provided as part of the machine harness.
Make an Ethernet connection from the customer switch to the receptacle "RJ45" of the 362-9052 Monitor Harness As .Note: Do not make an Ethernet connection to cab wiring.
Install any one of the MPGPS satellite receiver or LPGPS satellite receiver. Perform the following procedure to install required satellite receiver:Perform the following steps to install MPGPS satellite receiver: (a) Using the 388-2414 Wiring Harness , remove the termination resistor from the connector "MA-C2", and connect the connector "TM-C2" to connector "MA-C2". (b) Install the termination resistor to connector "TM-C3". (c) Connect the connector "TM-C4" to the backup battery output. (d) Connect the connector "TM-C5" to the connector "FA-C6" of the 362-9052 Monitor Harness As . (e) Connect the connector plug "TM-C1" to the MPGPS satellite receiver.Perform the following steps to install LPGPS satellite receiver: (a) Connect the connector "CD-C2" of the 357-7170 Wiring Harness to connector "MC-C35" (Product Link Connection) of the machines harness. (b) Connect the connector plug "CD-C1" of the 357-7170 Wiring Harness to the LPGPS receiver.
Connect one end of the antenna cable to the receiver and the other end to the antenna.
For the VIMS Ethernet connection, use the 305-5528 Cable As . Connect the connector plug "RJ45" to the customers switch and the service port end to the
