Remove & Install Vibration Damper & Pulley
1. Remove the drive belt from the engine.
When bolts (1) are removed, the vibration damper will come off the end of the crankshaft. To prevent possible personal injury, hold the vibration damper and pulley in position when bolts (1) are being removed.
2. While holding pulley (2) and vibrating damper (3) in position, remove six bolts (1) and the washers. Remove pulley (2), vibration damper (3) and spacer (4). The following steps are for the installation of the vibration damper and pulley. 3. Position pulley (2) on vibration damper (3). Place a bolt through the top bolt hole in each component. Position spacer (4) on the backside of the damper and on the bolt as shown in the illustration. With a second person, position the spacer, pulley and vibration damper on the end of crankshaft (5). Install the washers and bolts (1) finger tight.4. Tighten bolts (1) evenly to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft).5. Install the drive belt on the engine.6. Using a dial indicator, check the face runout of the damper assembly. The maximum face runout should not be more than 2.032 mm (.080 in).
