Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.
Use throttle decrease switch (3) in order to operate the engine in low idle.

Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.
If the test is being performed on a double-drum machine, go to Step 7. If the test is being performed on a single-drum machine, go to Step 9.

Disconnect brake hose (5) from the front propel motor. Hand tighten Tool (B) on the port, and then loosen the cap one half turn in order to allow chamber venting. Use Tool (C) in order to plug the hose assembly.

Disconnect brake hose (6) from the rear propel motor. Hand tighten Tool (B) on the port, and then loosen the cap one half turn in order to allow chamber venting. Use Tool (C) in order to plug the hose assembly. Go to the test procedure.

Unhook latch (7) at the rear of the engine compartment, and open engine hood (8).

Remove locking pin (9) from hood support bracket (10). Move the bracket in order to support engine hood (8). Install the locking pin in order to secure the hood support bracket.

Loosen the lock nut on needle valve (11). Rotate needle valve (11) clockwise in order to fully close the valve. Test Procedure

Move engine start switch (4) into the ON position. When the "Wait to start engine" message disappears from display (12), move the engine start switch to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.

Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Use throttle increase switch (13) in order to operate the engine at 2700. Note: The engine is limited to 1400 rpm until the hydraulic oil temperature is greater than 15° C (59° F).
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (D). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43° 6°C (110° 10°F).

If this test is being performed on a double-drum machine, use drum selector switches (14) and (15) to set the vibratory status to "both drums".

Depress vibratory control switch (16) on the propel lever. Move the propel lever slightly out of the NEUTRAL position. Stop moving the propel lever when the vibratory system starts. Note: If the propel lever is moved too far, the machine may attempt to propel.
On double-drum machines, use Tool (A) to determine the vibratory frequency of both drums. On single-drum machines, use Tool (A) to measure the vibratory frequency of the front drum. The vibratory frequency should be at least 3540 vpm.
Depress vibratory control switch (5) on the propel lever.
Move propel lever (1) into the NEUTRAL position.
Use throttle decrease switch (3) in order to operate the engine in low idle.
Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.
If the vibratory frequency is outside the specified range, check the case drain flow of the vibratory motors. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Case Drain Flow for Gear Motor (Vibratory) - Test". If the motor case drain flow is within specification, test the
