If equipped with fuel tank guards, and the fast fuel attachment, remove fast fuel adapter (9) . Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to guard assembly (8) . The weight of guard assembly (8) is approximately 240 kg (530 lb). Remove tank guard bolts (10) that attach the guard to the fenders and remove guard assembly (8) .

Disconnect rear attachment harness (12) from fuel tank (11) . Disconnect hose assembly (13) .

Disconnect harness assembly (16) from the fuel tank.
Disconnect harness assemblies (14) from power inverter (15) . Disconnect coolant hose (17) .
Disconnect fuel line hose assembly (18) .
Clean off and blow out dust and dirt from the top side of the power inverter connector covers. In order to keep debris from dropping in connection area. Remove power inverter bolts (20) and covers (19) to access generator and motor cable connectors.

Disconnect generator shield wires (22) .Note: Support cable assemblies (24) during the removal and installation procedure. Do not use an impact wrench to disconnect or connect cable assemblies (24) . Ensure that cables assemblies (24) have proper contact during the installation procedure.
Remove motor and generator nuts (23) . Remove bolts (25) and cable assemblies (24) .
If necessary, remove O-ring seals (21) . After removing cables from power inverter, reinstall covers (21) to keep debris from entering connection area.

Attach a suitable lifting device to fuel tank (11) . The weight of fuel tank (11) is approximately 567 kg (1250 lb).
Remove bolts (26) and (27) . Repeat for the opposite side. Remove fuel tank (11) .

Disconnect hoses (29) . Disconnect harness assembly (30) .
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to power inverter (15) . The weight of power inverter (15) is approximately 150 kg (330 lb). Remove bolts (28) and power inverter (15) .

Disconnect hoses (31) . Disconnect harness assembly (30) .
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to accessory power converter (33) . The weight of accessory power converter (33) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb). Remove bolts (32) and accessory power converter (33) .Installation Procedure
Install fuel tank (10) in the reverse order of removal.Note: Clean the electrical connections with a 90/10, isopropanol and water solution before assembly.
Tighten bolts (25) and (20) to a torque of 15 3 N m (135 27 lb in).
Use Tooling (C) in order to secure O-ring seals (21) .

Install Tooling (B) in order to secure the harness assemblies (30) and (5) . Install Tooling (B) in a clockwise direction. Refer to Special Instructions, "REHS5556" for the correct installation procedure.
Tighten the negative cable assembly (6) to a torque of 30 7 N m (22 5 lb ft). Tighten the positive cable assembly (6) to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).Note: Tighten the positive battery cables first.
Tighten cable assembly (1) to a torque of 4 2 N m (35 18 lb in).
