SENSOR GP-TEMPERATURE 3104796 - Caterpillar

1. Remove two bolts (1), the washers and grommets (7). Remove guard (2). 2. Disconnect wiring harness (3) from the electronic speed sensor. Remove three bolts (4), the washers and grommets (7). Remove electronic speed sensor (5) and spacer (6). 3. Remove spacer (8), and remove shaft (9). The following steps are for the installation of the electronic speed sensor.4. Check the condition of five grommets (7). If any of the grommets are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. When the sensor drive group is installed on the transmission, install the shaft from the sensor mounting end.5. Install shaft (9) in the transmission. Put spacer (8) in position on the transmission.6. Put spacer (6) and electronic speed sensor (5) in position on the transmission. Install three grommets (7), the washers and three bolts (4).7. Connect wiring harness (3) to the electronic speed sensor. Put guard (2) in position, and install two grommets (7), the washers and two bolts (1).Disassemble & Assemble Electronic Speed Sensor
Start By:a. remove electronic speed sensor 1. Remove four bolts (4) and the washers. Remove sensor rotor (3) and retainer (2) from sensor housing (1).2. Remove retaining ring (9) from sensor rotor (3). Remove bearing (5) from the sensor rotor with Tool (A).3. Remove spacer (6), spacer (7), and grommets (8). The following steps are for the assembly of the electronic speed sensor.4. Check the condition of grommets (8). If the grommets are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.5. Install grommets (8), spacer (7), and spacer (6) in sensor housing (1).6. Put retainer (2) in position on sensor rotor (3). Heat bearing (5), and install it on the sensor rotor. Be sure the bearing makes contact with the shoulder on the sensor rotor. Install retaining ring (9) on the sensor rotor.7. Put sensor rotor (3) and retainer (2) in position in sensor housing (1).
