Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.
When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Illustration 5 g03777364Note: Use Tooling (A) to remove and install bushing (2) and bushing (3). (1) Tighten elbow adapter to a torque of 9.32 4.9 N m (82 43 lb in). (2) Pin bores to be lubricated and free of paint. (3) Pin bores to be lubricated and free of paint. (4) Lubricated the threads with Tooling (B) prior to tightening. Tighten the head to a torque of 1570 350 N m (1158 258 lb ft). (5) Tighten nut to a torque of 4410 220 N m (3253 162 lb ft). (6) Tighten screw to 57 10 N m (42 7 lb ft). Apply Tooling (C) over screw. (7) Lubricate the sealing lip lightly with the lubricant that is being seals. Installation Procedure

Attach a suitable lifting device to blade cylinder (8). The weight of blade cylinder (8) is approximately 104 kg (230 lb).
Position blade cylinder (8) onto the chassis and the blade.
Prior to installing pin assemblies (6) and (7), apply Tooling (D) to pin assembly (6) and pin assembly (7). Install pin assembly (6) and pin assembly (7).
Install retaining bolts (4) and (5). Remove the suitable lifting device.
Connect hose assemblies (3).

Position cover (1) and install bolts (2).
