1. Loosen the tie rod adjustment lockbolt (1) at each end of the tie rod to be removed.2. Remove the cotter pins, and loosen nuts (2), but do not remove them. 3. Put tool (A) under the ballstuds, and apply force. Push against the loose nuts (2) to avoid causing damage to the ballstud threads. With the load still applied, hit stud sockets (3) with a hammer. The ballstuds will come loose. 4. Remove tie rods (4) from the vehicle, and remove tie rod ends (5) from the rod. Count the number of turns needed to remove the ends from the rod. The following steps are for installation of the tie rods.5. Install the tie rod ends (5) on tie rod (4). Count the number of turns to install the new ends in the same position as the old ones.6. Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on the tapered part of the ballstuds, and install the tie rods onto the vehicle. Install and tighten ball stud nuts (2) to standard torque value plus the amount needed to install the cotter pins.7. Install cotter pins, and tighten tie rod adjustment lockbolts (1).8. Check front wheel alignment (See Testing And Adjusting, Form No. SENR7812).
