Align front drive shaft (1) with the center of the bore. Use Tooling (A) (not shown) and the suitable lifting device in order to adjust the height of front drive shaft (1).

Use two people in order to install carrier bearing housing (8) so that the grease fitting is at the top. Install the washers, bolts (7), and nuts (9). The weight of carrier bearing housing (8) is approximately 32 kg (70 lb).

Raise the temperature of bearing cones (16). Install bearing cones (16) to front drive shaft (1). Apply a thin coat of oil to bearing cones (16).

Lower the temperature of the second bearing cup (15). Install bearing cup (15).

Install spacer (12).

Install O-ring seal (13).

Use Tooling (D) in order to install lip seal (14). Install lip seal (14) until lip seal (14) contacts the counterbore of bearing retainer (11). Make sure that the sealing lip of lip seal (14) is facing toward the outside of bearing retainer (11).
Lubricate the sealing lip of lip seal (14) with Tooling (E).

Install bearing retainer (11). Install the washers and bolts (10).
When the front drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the front axle assembly yoke. The front drive shaft must be installed in phase with the center and rear drive shafts. Serious component damage could occur. Be certain that all the joint groups, all the yokes, and all the lubricating fittings are aligned.

Install yoke (5) in correct rotation with the yoke of the front axle assembly.
Install O-ring seal (6) in the center of yoke (5).

Install the retainer and bolt (4) in order to fasten yoke (5) to the front drive shaft. Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 530 70 N m (395 52 lb ft).
Remove Tooling (A).
Lubricate the front drive shaft and the carrier bearing. For the correct procedure, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine. End By:
Install the center drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Center) - Remove and Install".
Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
