Remove Bucket Cylinder
1. Fully extend the stick and open the bucket and lower the bucket to the ground. 2. To release the oil pressure in the bucket cylinder circuit, slowly open screws (1) and (2) until the oil pressure is released. Tighten the screws.
Do not disconnect any oil lines from the bucket cylinder until all oil pressure in the bucket cylinder circuit has been released. Serious personal injury can be the result if oil under pressure is permitted to come out of an open oil line.
3. Remove the guard from over bracket (3). Remove bracket (3) from the cylinder.4. Disconnect hose assemblies (4) and (5) from the head end of the bucket cylinder. 5. Remove the bolts and retainer that hold pin (6) in place. Remove pin (6). If the pin is difficult to remove, use tooling (A). 6. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder as shown. Remove the bolt that holds pin (7). Remove the pin. If the pin is difficult to remove, use tooling (A).7. Remove bucket cylinder (8) from the stick. The weight of the cylinder is 315 lb. (142 kg).Install Bucket Cylinder
1. Fasten a hoist to the bucket cylinder. Put the cylinder in position and install head end pin (1). If the pin is difficult to install, use tooling (A). Install the bolt that holds the pin in place. 2. Lower the cylinder and install the rod end pin. Install retainer (2). Install the two bolts that hold the retainer to the pin. If the pin is difficult to install, use tooling (A). 3. Connect two hose assemblies (3) to the bucket cylinder. 4. Install bracket (5) and guard (4).5. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level.Disassemble Bucket Cylinder
start by:a) remove bucket cylinder 1. Remove the tube assembly from the cylinder. Put the cylinder in position on tool (A).2. Slowly extend the cylinder to permit oil to run out. Remove eight bolts (1) from the rod end of the cylinder.3. Remove the rod and head from the cylinder. 4. Remove nut (2) from the rod with tool (B). Remove stop (3). 5. Remove seal (6) from stop (3). Remove guide (5) from the rod. 6. Remove nut (4) with tooling (C). Remove piston (7) and head (8) from the rod. 7. Remove stop (10) from head (8). Remove O-ring seal and back-up ring (9) from the head. Remove three seals (11) from inside the head. 8. Remove seal (12) from stop (10). 9. Remove ring (13) and seal assembly (14) from piston (7).Assemble Bucket Cylinder
For correct installation of all O-ring seals and seals, see illustration of the bucket cylinder. 1. Install the three seals inside of head (1). Install back-up ring and O-ring seal (2) on the head. Install head (1) on the rod. Put clean hydraulic oil on all the seals in the head and put oil on the rod.2. Install the seal in stop (3). Install the seal with the lip toward the nut when installed on the rod. Install stop
