MARINE ENGINE,
Information:
Power Train Oil System
Measure the Oil Level
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
The power train oil dipstick is located on the right side of the machine. 1. Open the right side access door. 2. Measure the oil level, with the engine at low idle and at operating temperature. Maintain the oil level to the FULL mark on the dipstick. 3. Remove the oil filler cap if necessary to add oil.4. Add oil as required to maintain the oil to the FULL mark on the dipstick.5. Clean and install the cap.6. Close the access door.Radiator
Check the Coolant Level
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your hand.Remove the filler cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Open the coolant filler cap slowly to relieve any pressure.Inspect the condition of the cap gasket. Replace the cap gasket if damaged.2. Maintain the coolant above the low level plate.3. Install the radiator cap.Clean Outside of Folded Core Radiator
Compressed air, high pressure water or steam can be used to remove dust, leaves and general debris from a folded core radiator. The use of compressed air is preferred.
Pressure air can cause personal injury. When using pressure air for cleaning, wear a protective face shield, protective clothing and protective shoes. The maximum air pressure must be below 205 kPa (30 psi) for cleaning purposes.
Refer to "Know Your Cooling System," Form SEBD0518, for the complete procedure and instructions.Hydraulic Tank
Check the Oil Level
Hot oil can cause burns. At operating temperature, the hydraulic tank is hot and under pressure.Remove the fill cap ONLY when the engine is stopped, and the cap is cool enough to touch with your hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.
Never remove the cap from the implement hydraulic tank if the oil is hot. Air can enter the system and cause pump damage.
The hydraulic oil tank is located on the left side of the machine. 1. Maintain the oil level between the ADD and FULL marks in the sight gauge. 2. Remove the oil filler cap and add oil if necessary.3. Clean and inspect the cap and gasket. Replace the gasket if damaged. 4. Install the cap.Fuel Tank
Drain the Moisture and Sediment
1. Open the fuel drain valve access cover. 2. Open the drain valve and allow the moisture and sediment to drain.3. Close the drain valve.4. Close the access cover.Indicators and Gauges
Test for Proper Function
1. Look for broken gauge lenses or lights, switches, etc.2. Start the engine. 3. Look for inoperative gauges.4. Stop the engine.5. Make needed repairs.Winch
Check the Oil Level
Oil must be visible in the sight gauge with the engine at low idle. 1. Remove the oil filler plug if necessary to add oil.2. Add the oil.3. Clean and install the
