There is no clearance for a person in the area between the front and rear frames of the machine when turning the machine. When the machine is to be lifted, transported on another vehicle or service work is being performed near the center of the machine, connect the steering frame lock link between the front and rear frames to keep the machine in a straight ahead position. Before operation and when operating, be sure the steering frame lock link, located near the center of the machine, is disconnected and pinned to the retaining plate on the rear main frame.
1. Put the machine in a straight ahead position.2. Engage the parking brake. 3. Remove cotter pin (4) and anchor pin (3). Remove cotter pin (1) and retainer pin (2) that hold the steering frame lock link bracket in the stored position. 4. Move steering frame lock link (5) into position on the front frame as shown. It may be necessary to move the front frame to the left or right to align the pin bores.5. Install pin (3) and cotter pin (4) to hold the steering frame lock link in position. The following steps are for the separation of the steering frame lock link.6. Remove cotter pin (4) and pin (3) that hold steering frame lock link (5) to the front frame.7. Move steering frame lock link (5) to the stored position. Install retainer pin (2) and cotter pin (1) to hold the steering frame lock link in the stored position.
