Tractors, 16G Motor Graders, 777 Trucks, 988B And 992C LoadersTwo new hand taps and a rethreading die are available for use on the above models. The new 1U6539 Hand Tap (1 1/16"-12) can be used to restore the threads in the rim assemblies of 988B and 992C Loaders. The new 1U6540 Hand Tap (1 5/16"-12) is used for general purpose thread restoration. For cleaning up the threaded wheel studs on 16G Motor Graders and 777 Trucks, the new 6V7052 Rethreading Die (1 5/16"-12) can be used.
Both hand taps and the rethreading die are available from the Caterpillar Parts Department. The sizes of the hand taps and rethreading die are those sizes not normally found as "on-shelf" items.
