Service Brake Holding Ability Test
Personal injury can result if the machine moves while testing.If the machine begins to move during test, reduce the engine speed immediately and engage the parking brake.
Note: Steering must be enabled in order to shift the transmission out of NEUTRAL.ReferenceRefer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls" "Steering" section for more information.
Start the engine. Raise the implement slightly. Apply the service brake. Release the parking brake.
Ensure that the Service Brake Check mode is enabled. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System - Service Brake Mode" description for additional details.Note: Any attempt by the operator to check the holding capability of the brakes while the service brake check mode is disabled will not properly indicate the holding ability of the braking system.
Put the transmission control in FORWARD while the service brakes are applied.
Gradually increase the engine speed. The machine should not move.
Reduce the engine speed to low idle. Move the transmission direction control to the NEUTRAL position. Engage the parking brake. Lower the implement to the ground.
Disable the "Service Brake Mode". "Service mode de-activated" will display on the monitor.
