Transmission control lever - Move the transmission control lever to the desired speed and desired direction. Align the gear number with the center of the transmission control lever.For maximum productivity, upshift whenever the engine speed increases above 2100 rpm. Also, downshift whenever the engine speed reaches 1800 rpm.This machine is equipped with a direct drive power shift transmission. The transmission has the following standard features.
Ten forward speeds
Two reverse speeds
Six forward speeds are closely spaced in the normal operating range of 6.5 to 12.9 km/h (4 to 8 mph).
A roading speed of 25 km/h (15.5 mph) is provided for all machines.The following machines are equipped with variable horsepower: Challenger 85E and Challenger 95E. The variable horsepower is electronically controlled. The Challenger 85E is equipped with two settings for the variable horsepower. See Table 1.
