PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING THE JACKET WATER COUPLINGS ON CERTAIN 3512C MARINE ENGINES EQUIPPED WITH A PLATE TYPE HEAT EXCHANGERS

This Program must be administered as soon as possible.When reporting the repair, use "PI10935" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty ClaimDescription Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code.
Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI10935" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number,"96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
PROBLEM
The jacket water couplings need to be replaced on certain 3512C Marine Engines equipped with a plate type heat exchanger. The existing coupling can allow the tubes to seperate resulting in a loss of engine coolant.

ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the existing 7L-3201 Couplings with 423-2808 Griplock Couplings. Refer to the attached Rework Procedure.

1. Drain jacket water coolant into suitable container.
2. Remove the 7L-3201 Couplings (1) (Image 1.1.1) and tubes (2) from only the jacket water side of the 375-4143 Heat Exchanger.
