Due to the large number of parts involved, field conversion to the new control valve groups and single-section pumps is not practical. These changes have resulted in several new hydraulic arrangements which are shown in parts book microfiche. For your information, the pressure settings of the dual sensing relief valves, which are part of the new main control valve groups, are given in Chart B.
If adjustments are made, set high setting first. Use the small shims for this. Both valves have the same components as those in the relief valve shown in the October 24, 1983 Service Magazine, Page 6. The only difference is the quantity of shims.
For loaders doing backdragging (backdozing), the dual sensing feature can be installed on all earlier 963 and 973 Loaders. Refer to Special Instruction SMHS8488 for installation instructions. Page 11 lists the parts needed. Do not order the conversion arrangements. Add a NOTE on Page 11 that the 4T6069 Body listed for both machines is not needed if the former 7P6732 Body is machined for a No. 4 SAE O-ring port. See illustration.
